Deborah Lippmann's Sugar Daddy Swatch

Hey Lovelies! Today I am bringing you a super gorgeous swatch from the lovely Deborah Lippmann. Sugar Daddy is a beautiful antique champagne gold with a hint of lilac. Swagga Like Us, Private Dancer and Sugar Daddy are the three polishes that make up the Mirror Chromed Collection. The application of this polish was flawless and the formula is amazing. When applying the polish it left no streaks and had a very fast dry time. If you are a huge fan of duochromes then I highly recommend this polish!

Isn't she lovely?!?!! Don't forget to enter my 500 Fan Follower Giveaway! that's going on till July 2nd.

Pink, Floral And Girly

Hey Lovelies! For this look I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen's Hard-Core Party topped with 1 coat of Jordana's Crystal Glitter. I then stamped the flower image off of image plate B87 with MASH Nail Art Polish in Black.

I am absolutely in love with how beautiful and girly this look is! If you aren't a fan of the accent nail then here is a swatch of Hard-Core Party with Crystal Glitter on top.

I was never a fan of light pinks or nude shades of polish but right now I cant get enough of them! I really want to get my hands on the new OPI New York City Ballet Collection. What is your favorite nude or light pink polish? Hope you all are having a wonderful day! Don't forget to enter my 500 Fan Follower Giveaway! that's going on till July 2nd.

Try It On Tuesday: Blue for AMC Awareness

Hey Lovelies! Today's TIOT is to raise awareness of Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. Check out jilltastic nail design's blog to read a touching story of her friends son who has it. For today's mani I am trying out the OPI Blue Shatter. I applied one coat of Sally Hansen Blue-Away and one coat of OPI Last Friday Night on top. Once it was all dry I applied one coat of OPI Blue Shatter over the whole nail.

I have to be honest with you guys.... I hate it! It hardly even "shattered". I owned the Black Shatter before and it had no problem shattering. The only problem the black shatter had was that it dried up really fast in the bottle and became clumpy. This Blue Shatter's consistency is very thin and almost water like so I don't know if they changed the formula or what. Also the blue looks darker in the bottle so maybe I just paired the two colors to close together and that's why it looks like it didn't shatter. I'm going to try this shatter out again but put it up against a white to see if it shatters better. Nude Vintage Design

Hey Lovelies! For today's look I used 3 coats of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Royal Icing. I then used the New 2012 Bundle Monsters Stamping Plates and stamped the image from BM-314 with MASH's Nail Art Polish in Black. When I applied my top coat to my index finger I had a tiny bit of running so to fix it I just added a thin coat of Jordana's Crystal Glitter. I sweat that polish is my go to when I mess up because it hides a mess up really well and who doesn't love glitter?!?! Enjoy!

Key Keeper

Hey Lovelies! For today's look I did two coats of OPI's Samoan Sands topped with one coat of MASH's Nail Art Polish in Silver Glitter. I then stamped the key off of MASH plate 32 with MASH's Nail Art Polish in Black. This time I changed up my top coat and I used Sally Hansen's INSTA-DRI in Clearly Quick. So far so good with this top coat. I really love how fast it dries and no chipping yet!

Try It On Tuesday

Welcome to the first ever Try It On Tuesday! TIOT is where a group of bloggers and I are going to challenge ourselves to try out a nail polish every Tuesday that we already own but have never tried out. For today's look I used 1 coat of Sally Hansen's INSTA-DRI in Presto Pink. I then went in with MASH's Nail Art Polish in Black and stamped MASH plate 42. I did kind of a messy job on the stamping so for a easy fix I used 2 layers of Jordana's Crystal Glitter to hide my sloppiness.

CND Shellac Review

Hey Lovelies! Since I was going on vacation for a little over a week I thought it would be really fun to try out the CND Shellac polish that my husband got for me as a Christmas present last year. The application was super simple and only took me about 40 mins with a small child needing attention every 5 mins lol. I only left them on for a week because I suffer from "I have to change my polish every day" syndrome and a week is all I could take! Below are photos taken every day for one full week. Enjoy!

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4

Day 5

Day 6

One Week!

Holy Cow that was awesome! HAHAHA Needless to say after only 2 full days of  wearing the Shellac both of my pointer fingers chipped and that was all. I honestly think that it was my fault that they chipped because I forgot to cap the free edges on only those 2 fingers. All in all I was very happy with how they looked after the full week of hell I put them through and they could have easily have gone through another week of hell with very minimal chipping. I was super impressed because within that week I had gone swimming 4 times for hours and having a kid you wash your hands over a thousand times a day. I would definitely recommend trying out Shellac if you like to wear a manicure for more then 2 days without chips. I hope you enjoyed this!

A very green guest post from Nail Noise

Hello lovely and beautiful Mixed Mama followers! My name is Crystal and I'm addicted to nail polish and nail art.. oh wait, we all are, that's why we're here! Let me be more specific, I am addicted to GREEN nail polish! I have never met a green or teal I didn't like. So I decided to showcase my insatiable love in the style of a "straw blot manicure". I have seen a few different nail artists around the blogworld use this technique, and I had to try it for myself with my favorite color!

First I applied a base coat of Cosmetic Arts - Goblin Jizz (I named it that myself, there is no actual name), which is a bright granny smith apple green neon-ish beauty that looks like this:

In sunlight

Then I used a straw to blot on circles and half circles all over my nails in varying shades of green and one silver. I used the same process one would with a dotting tool, except with a straw!

Indoor lighting

The two greens are Innocence by Sinful Colors (the more yellowish one) and Fresh by Orly (the brighter one). The silver is Wet N Wild's Metallica

As you can see I got some bubbling, but that was all my top coat's fault. You can only add so much thinner before it bubbles over I guess!

I hope you all enjoyed this design, and I would love to see any recreations you guys come up with! Thank YOU Miss Jas for being awesome and letting me post all up in your blog! Your stampings are near perfection and your gradiants make me wonder where I went so wrong with my own ;)

Thanks for reading!

Guest Post by Sweet Polish of Mine

Hey Mixed Mama readers!
Jasmine was kind enough to invite me to guest post for her while she is on vacation!
My name is Joanna and I have a very, very new blog called Sweet Polish of Mine
I have been dabbling in nail art and following bloggers for about a year now and when I came across
Mixed Mama I really liked her creativity and talent.

Then I realized that I knew her!
We went to high school together and live about 5 blocks away from each other :)

So, she does not know this yet but she is the reason I finally got up the nerve to start my blog.
I saw that a normal girl just like me who
was able to not only have a nail blog but a successful one.
So thanks Jasmine, now I have something else to do instead of sleep!
(No really, Thank You)

Ok, enough with the talking and into the nail polish!
I knew I wanted to do something special on this post.
So that means pulling out one of those "Special, save for a rainy day, hard to find" polishes
I knew there was only one person to turn to, Alice.

OPI Absolutely Alice is one of my favorite colors!
I don't wear her often, but when I do I just stare at my nails!
This is a glorious 2 coats of the blue and gold, glittering beauty.

I had such a hard time choosing between pictures, so prepare for some polish spam!
(Alice is not a top coat eater by the way!)

Polishes
OPI: Absolutely Alice
Finger Paints: Lemon Sour
Konad Special Polish in Pastel Blue
Poshe Top Coat

Bundle Monster Plate BM03

I hope you enjoyed my post and I hope I didn't talk too much!
Swing by my blog and check out some of my other stuff!
(Sorry for rambling, just nervous)

Guest Post By Jnjnails

Hey it's Amanda from jnjnails! I am so excited to show you this mani. This is a dotted manicure because I am obsessed with dotting tools....lol. I used Sinful Colors Island Coral for the base color and acrylic paint in Pool Blue for the dots.

I love this color combination because it reminds of being on vacation on a tropical island. The dots were created using a bobby pin and a toothpick. Check out my other manis at www.jnjnails.tumblr.com. Thanks again to MixedMama for letting me share this mani with you guys. I hope you enjoyed it!
